竖脊肌又叫骶棘肌为背肌中最长最大的肌。竖脊肌纵列于脊柱两侧的沟内，在上述各肌的深面。
竖脊肌的作用：使脊柱后伸和仰头，为强有力的伸肌，对维持人体直立姿势有着重要的作用。
